When is surrender not enough?

Time after time I have been told that God wants me to surrender to him. I have found that this is the truth. However, I have reached a point where I have found that sometimes surrender isn't enough for God. He, after our surrender, begins to reach for more. He pushes to an instance where we feel surrender is not enough, but we must prevail, we must overcome. At first when I found myself in this situation my instinct about what I thought was the nature of God lead me to believe that i had not surrendered all of me, or not enough of me.
Enter now the concept of wrestling with God। Most, well all of us would say why wrestle with God its a guaranteed loss to our record। He is the Lord of all, so powerful he created the heavens and earth, then created us। What sense is there to wrestle with God. Not much, unless God is looking to wrestle us.
This blog will consist of my wrestling with Christ to surrender more of myself to him and to understand more the concept of prevailing in this life. As Jacob wrestled with God and learned to overcome I too find myself at that wrestling point with hopes that i may overcome.
