God still has big plans for Young Life at Taylor. He answered some big prayers that we've had for sometime now by placing two new volunteer leaders on our team. Josh and Kelly fresh out of new leader training from the University of Cincinnati are now part of team Taylor. The team is the biggest its been in years with six leaders, 3 guys and 3 girls.
I'm so excited to have them join our team. Every time we get new leaders its like a boost of energy. They are always so eager to get out there to be with kids and love kids for Christ. After leading for five years I will say there are days where its hard to go to the school with a smile on my face, but with new leaders I get this renewing of my passion for students and their relationships with Christ. Their excitement poors into me, and not only am I excited for them but I become excited for the ministry.
I wonder where God is going to have us go or what He will have us do with our new team. I think we're on the verge of taking the Three Rivers community by storm. However God works in His own time, maybe we are still preparing the way for the greater things that will come. Either way I am thankful to be apart of this ministry and to be apart of this team.
This weekend is our fall weekend trip for Taylor Young Life. I love fall weekend, I mean it's the best weekend of the fall! This weekend every year is nothing but absolute fun, building relationships, and Christ. This weekend is completely bathed in Love. You can't help but to feel the presence of God at a Young Life fall Weekend. Maybe I have a little biased few considering that I first met Christ at fall weekend, but I know for many this weekend will be there first encounter with Christ.
I feel slightly overwhelmed about this weekend. For one I'm older and no where near in the shape I used to be in, and all the games and football are gonna tire me out. Second, we have a lot of guys coming. I am so used to like 5 or 7 guys between Mike and I but there is gonna be more than that this time and I don't know how I'm going to keep up with them.
Friends, please pray for our weekend. We have a few guys who don't know the Love of Christ and I pray that they will find that this weekend. We also have a group of girls who will encounter Christ for the first time this weekend. Please pray that we can have good, deep, and meaningful conversations. That we don't get tired and stay strong. That we can ask the questions that no one else will. That we will be real and unconditional with our friends. Pray that God is there in a big way!

So a few weeks ago I was asked by our great YL staff to create a video that could explain what Young Life looks like in our area that we could show at our banquet. I knew this task would be big and fun so i decided to it. I am convienced that this video is one of the reasons i have been unemployed for so long now. God wanted me to work on things like this.
Anyways I really impressed myself with this one and I am super excited to share this with you.

Well for awhile now I have been wanting to get a site together that would be for all the people I know involved in youth ministry. It would contain encouragement, ideas, help, and so on. This week at club we had pizza olympics. To help introduce and sell the pizza olympics we showed the students what we did this summer at the olympics.

Thats right everyone, i'm home... Its been a long month however i feel like i left yesterday. It feels good to be back, and yes i already had Skyline. :)
Camp this week was awesome! This picture should tell you how it was for the guys and I. We were "That Cabin." We won the VolleyBall Tourney and got in trouble for putting goldbond on the beds of a few cabins. In the end we all came home closer to God, knowing that we can have a personal and eternal relationship with Christ. Thanks for those who prayed for our trip.
Well everybody i'm not gonna lie. I am really starting to stress out. Our cornhole tournament to raise money for camp is coming up fast and well we're not getting the turn out i had hoped. Maybe everyone is waiting to sign up at the last minute. I don't know. All i know its really stressing me out.

As most of you know, I am a volunteer Young Life leader for Taylor High School. Every year we take a summer camp trip and like usual camp is expensive and we need help raising funds to send underprivileged students to camp.

This is the video that I made for my cross talk at club this week. We looked into how we have a hole in our hearts when we are separated from God and that the death of Jesus is able to fill this hole in our hearts and make our hearts whole.
Well this Monday was a little different from a normal Young Life Monday. We still had campaigners which Jen lead and was great. We discussed James 1 and how that can apply to our lives especially coming off a great fall weekend and out Jesus highs. We learned that we must persevere and turn to God for wisdom. We learned that when we suffer trials that they are not from God because he is good and that we should consider those trials pure joy. There was a lot of good discussion and topics covered.
The different part this Monday was that we did not have club. The facility we have club at is used as a voting place on election days. They set up the voting equipment the night before and we are not allowed in the building once it is all set up. So we had a Skyline night. We just told everyone that we were hanging out at Skyline in Cleves during the time we should have had club.
I assumed that there would be a few people there but not our entire club. Sure enough everyone showed up and plus some. Skyline was over flowing with high school kids from Taylor all hanging out in a fun and remember able way. The best part was we all were able just to hang out and talk, we got to see each other on another level that sometimes we miss out on at club. God was at Skyline, he was apart of the meal we shared and the conversation we had. It was amazing.
Skyline handled us very well and only one person had a drink spilled on him. Well, if it was anybody besides Timmy I might have felt bad about it. I want to say thank you Skyline for another great memory in my life.

Well as you see I haven't said much this week. My week has been so busy and so tiring.
Let me give you guys a little run through of what all I did this week.
I guess we will start with Monday.
I got up and watched a good old western movie with my dad and of course it had Jimmy Stewart in it. Then we had some lunch. Then I started to get my campaigner talk together and organized the script and skit for club. Next I actually did homework in the middle of the afternoon. That was weird for me. I usually never even start homework until like 10pm or later.
Campaigners
We had campaigners at 6:30 and it went really well. We split off into groups and read Matthew 13:1-23 (the parable of the sower).
Then we discussed what the parable meant to our lives and also what exactly a parable is. We looked at why Jesus taught in parables and how they can make things relative to our lives. Then we made our own parables to teach others what Taylor Campaigners is about using the topics we learned about in the previous weeks of campaigners.

Club
Club was awesome again! Everything went smoothly and we all had a blast. Timmy got to hide under the table and bucket and scare contestants trying to name that ball. It was hilarious especially when Timmy got pied. Man i love that skit. We gave out enough candy to fill a 2.5 gallon bucket. That was a lot of sugar. Then Jen closed it up with a great talk about how Jesus can heal us and about how we need Jesus to heal us. Again it was an amazing Monday night.
I finished Monday staying up to about 3am finishing a paper i had to write for my PR class. It was really lame. I had to act like I was a PR agent for Wal-Mart and I had to write a memo about how we were going to change our image.

Tuesday
I woke up and went to school.
I sat through speeches in speech class.
Then went to my PR class. The class I stayed all night writing the memo for. HHAAHAAA and yeah of course it was canceled. She canceled it about 3o minutes before class started. Oh well atleast the paper was done, right?
Then went to my Survey of the New Testament class and learned about the book of Acts. It was really interesting, and I turned in my take home test for that class.
Then I went to Mass Communications Research Methods, my most invigorating class of the day. It was good though because the regiongal VP for Sprint came and talk to us about new wireless communications stuff that is coming out. It was really cool.
Tuesday night Jen, Stech, and I went to Taylor's powder puff football game which was very entertaining.
Then i went home and well watched some tv and went to bed.
Wednesday
I got up and had some lunch.
Then i went on a bike ride. It was great except for the wind. I rode into the wind the whole time which slowed me up a bit.
Then i walked around the park and found a nice bench and finished a book.
Now guys don't make fun of me, and ladies this doesn't make me any less of a man, but the book I finished is Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. I got a lot to say about this book and a lot that i would like to ask some ladies who read it. So we will save all that for another post. However, guys I will say if you're gonna read a romance novel ever, this should be the one.
Mike came over later that afternoon and we finished installing the new garage door opener and then went to Stech's for dinner and to pass out halloween candy.
I came home and again stayed up to till like 3am to finish a speech i had to give the next day.
Thursday
Well I went to class again. I gave my speech on glass blowing and well I think I nailed it.

The rest of my classes were class as usual.
Then i met mike and brian for lunch at penn station. Then we went and got a new game for ps3 called warhawk and played it all evening. It is pretty stinking sweet.
I came home and watched tv and did dinner with my dad.
Then i went to sleep early cuz i was exhausted.
Friday...
Thats today and so far i have cut grass for my grandpa and my yard. Then i took a shower and cleaned my car out. Mike is here now and were watching a stupid movie called Hot to Trot. I recommend that you avoid this movie at all cost cuz it is horrible.
Well we got fallweekend this weekend and i have to got pack for that now.
